Melissa’s passion for acting, modeling, directing and film production started at the age of three doing print ads and brochures, which quickly led to her first TV commercial with the mascot Benny the Bull of the Chicago Bulls.
Soon after her humble start; Melissa started taking acting classes and was working with the New American Theater Company in Rockford, Illinois.  In high school she worked on two different feature films, acted in her school’s plays and was an intern for Cumulus Broadcasting.
Upon graduation from high school, Melissa enrolled at Southern Illinois University seeking a major in film and production.  During her first summer break in college, she went to Paris where she attended The New York Film Academy’s Acting Program of which she graduated.  Melissa then headed back to Southern Illinois University for another year.
Strong in her convictions, she decided to boldly move to London and enroll in The New York Film Academy’s Directing/Producing Program at the renowned Kings College.  One of her first projects was the challenge to create her own short film.  “The Unconscious Disease” was shot on 16mm film in the London area and won “Best Thriller” at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in New York City.
In an effort to broaden her skills and ensure her success going forward, she learned that she had been selected as 1 of 15 people who were awarded the chance to compete for the Aveda Institute Scholarship Award in St. Petersburg, Florida for Cosmetology. She advanced to the finals and won a cash scholarship award towards her training and ultimately her diploma from Aveda Institute.
Melissa has worked on many feature films, TV commercials, shorts and music videos doing everything from directing and producing to hair designs and make-up.
To further compliment her experience and to prepare for future opportunities in the film industry, Melissa spent the last five years as a Writer/Producer for the Home Shopping Network (HSN) in St. Petersburg, FL where she was recognized as an accomplished and accountable multiple Telly Award Winner.
